The ideal candidate should be able to:
- Lead the legal team in delivering outstanding legal representation and advisory services.
- Oversee the allocation and supervision of cases among junior and senior counsel.
- Review and approve legal strategies, filings, and major client submissions.
- Monitor firm performance and establish KPIs to evaluate legal output, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Lead internal reviews and performance audits to ensure effective workflow and risk management.
- Supervise and streamline case management systems, documentation, and administrative processes.
- Ensure consistent adherence to professional conduct, ethical practices, and statutory obligations.
- Maintain expertise in core practice areas to support and represent high-value or sensitive matters.
- Develop and implement the chambers' long-term vision, business goals, and operational strategies.
- Foster strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction through quality service and communication.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for growth through new practice areas, partnerships, and client acquisitions.
- Represent the chambers at public engagements, bar association meetings, seminars, and legal conferences.
- Promote the firm's reputation and presence through thought leadership and media engagement.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain talented legal professionals and support staff.
- Oversee continuing legal education, training workshops, and professional development programs.
- Conduct performance appraisals, provide feedback, and enforce disciplinary procedures where necessary.
- Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and ethical work environment within the chambers.
- Oversee the chambers' financial planning, budgeting, billing, and revenue management.
- Approve major expenses and financial decisions in line with the firm’s strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with tax, corporate, and legal regulatory requirements.
- Supervise non-legal staff including administrative officers, finance personnel, and clerks.
- LL.B and B.L from a recognized institution; Master's degree in Law or Business Administration (optional but advantageous).
- Minimum of 10 years of post-call legal experience, including 3–5 years in a senior or managerial role.
- Active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (or relevant jurisdictional body).
- Proven expertise in litigation, arbitration, or relevant specialized practice areas.
- Demonstrated success in legal strategy development, people management, and client engagement.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
- Business acumen with the ability to manage budgets, finances, and operations.
- Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and practice management software.
