- The Business Development Executive will proactively identify new business opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and support the development of proposals and tenders for environmental and ESG-related services.
- The role is focused on growing market presence across key sectors (oil & gas, power, infrastructure, financial institutions) and positioning the company as a trusted partner in Nigeria’s evolving regulatory and sustainability landscape.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, particularly within oil & gas, power, infrastructure, and financial sectors (25%).
- Build and manage relationships with existing and prospective clients, including multinationals, regulators, and financiers (20%).
- Coordinate and contribute to technical and commercial proposals, EOIs, and tender submissions (20%).
- Track industry trends, regulatory developments (NUPRC, NESREA, LFN), and competitor activity to inform strategy (15%).
- Collaborate with technical teams and subject-matter experts to align BD activities with delivery capacity (10%).
- Maintain accurate records of leads, pipelines, and performance metrics using CRM tools; prepare weekly BD reports (10%).
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s Degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., IEMA, ISO, GRI) is an advantage.
- 5 – 8 years of experience in business development, preferably in consulting, environmental services, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of winning or supporting bids over ?50M.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and multinational clients in Nigeria.
- Business acumen and sector knowledge.
- Sales and persuasive communication skills.
- Client relationship management.
- Proposal writing and bid coordination.
- Strategic thinking and opportunity positioning.
- Self-management and ability to meet targets.
- Familiarity with Nigerian regulatory frameworks (NUPRC, NESREA, LFN).
- Knowledge of ESG trends and sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and resilience in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
- Ability to develop long-term partnerships and strategic alliances.
- Strong business acumen in environmental and ESG consulting services (ESIA, audits, risk assessments, due diligence, sustainability reporting).
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills, with ability to pitch technical services persuasively.
- Skilled in proposal writing, bid coordination, and structured documentation.
- Strong presentation and client engagement skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Full-time role based in Lagos, Nigeria.
- Requires flexibility for client meetings, sector events, and occasional travel.
