• You will promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information on our company’s behalf.

• Develop effective corporate communication strategies
• Manage internal communications (memos, newsletters, etc.)
• Draft content (e.g., press releases) for mass media or the company website
• Organize initiatives and plan events or press conferences
• Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements etc.
• Foster relationships with advocates and key persons
• Collaborate with marketing professionals to produce copy for advertisements or articles
• Perform “damage control” in cases of bad publicity
• Assist in the communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership

• BSc / BA in public relations, communications or relevant field
• Proven experience as a communications specialist
• Experience in web design and content production is a plus
• Experience in copywriting and editing
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
• Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
• Solid understanding of project management principles
• Working knowledge of MS Office; photo and video-editing software is an asset
• Proficient command of English.

• The Communications Officer is responsible for creating communications content on behalf of the organization.
• This includes everything from writing press releases to develop blog content and create social media posts.
• They are also tasked with tracking campaign analytics, website management and maintaining digital media archives.
• A familiarity with the best practices of common social media platforms is also an asset for this position.
• Successful Communications Officers typically exemplify superior time management and storytelling skills, are creative thinkers and work well in a team setting.
• The Communication officer reports to the Director or/and other assigned supervisor.

• Study in relevant fields with 3 - 5 additional years of related work experience and/or specialised training/courses.
• Previous professional experience working in NGO as communications/public information officer or as a journalist.
• Ability to use productivity software, media and content management apps such as Canva, HootSuite, WordPress, MailChimp, Google WorkSpace, YouTube, Microsoft Office programming (Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) etc.
• Good communication and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade, influence and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals;
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in an autonomous manner.
• Be willing to travel and stay in the project communities which are mostly rural areas as required.
