- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and sub-ledgers (e.g., receivables, payables, fixed assets, payroll).
- Record daily financial transactions in compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
- Perform monthly and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure proper classification of financial entries.
- Conduct variance analysis and prepare financial commentaries.
- Analyze cost and expenses trends.
- Process and review supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and journal entries.
- Manage staff advances, and loan repayments.
- Liaise with the tax department and support during tax audits.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and evaluate potential business impacts.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external and internal audits.
- Address audit queries and implement audit recommendations.
- Support the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, track acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly accruals and ensure all expenses are recorded in the correct accounting period.
- Review historical data and supporting documents to establish and validate provisioning.
- •Coordinate with departments to gather data for estimates and support documentation.
- Record and monitor prepayments for rent, insurance, subscriptions, and other expenses.
- Reconcile prepayment accounts monthly and investigate discrepancies.
- Process and post customer receipts accurately in the ERP system
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage or in progress.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, and VLOOKUP,
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ethical standards, discretion, and integrity.
- Office-based role, with occasional travel to branch or field locations.
- May require extended hours during month end financial reporting periods or audits.
- Reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor.
