The role will be responsible for the design, optimization, and operational support of the gas processing facilities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Design & Optimization:
- Design, develop, and optimize the gas processing systems, including the separation, dehydration, compression, and treatment facilities.
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and heat and material balances.
- Evaluate process performance and recommend modifications to improve production efficiency, capacity, and safety.
- Participate in hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and safety reviews.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the gas processing operations.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of gas production and processing equipment.
- Monitor and analyze process data, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions to maintain optimal performance.
- Manage and participate in process engineering aspects of new projects, modifications, and upgrades to existing facilities.
- Work closely with project engineers, construction teams, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met within budget and timeline.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations for potential gas processing enhancements and expansions.
- Ensure that all process designs and operations comply with regulatory requirements, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, and company policies.
- Develop and implement procedures for gas plant operations, focusing on reducing emissions, enhancing safety, and improving energy efficiency.
- Ensure all engineering documentation is accurate, up to date, and in compliance with industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
- Proficient in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation (SCADA, DCS).
- Strong understanding of gas dehydration, compression, and acid gas removal processes (e.g., glycol dehydration, amine treating).
- Familiarity with Nigerian and international industry standards and regulations for gas processing (e.g., NUIMS, NUPRC, OSHA).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in gas processing within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on upstream operations.
- Experience in the design, operation, and optimization of gas plants, compressors, separators, and related equipment.
- Field experience in upstream oil & gas operations is mandatory
